Leo, The Revenant

This is another masterpiece of the amazing Mexican film director Alejandro González Iñárritu, that gave him the Oscar for best director.

His impecable and stunning work has touched too many people because of the intense and captivating trama in every movie that he had made. The Revenant is his most recent film, introducing the great Leonardo DiCaprio who had won the award of best actor in the Golden Globes, Academy Awards, Screen Actors Guild and The Oscar.

This movie based in the year 1820, shows the real life of the frontiersman Hugh Glass, in a better way than the first film did in 1971 “Man in the Wilderness” for obvious reasons (visual effects, cast, photography, costumes, etc).

Yes, its a very very long movie, are approximately three hours of pure suspense and action. Every detail in this movie makes it the best of the year. Because of shooting only with natural light (according to cinematographer Emmanuel Lubenski) you can see that the beautiful panoramic views of the mountains, snow, river, and trees, are the prove of the hard work of all the cast that resist the cold weather and the difficult conditions in which they had to live while shooting the movie. Half of the crew left because of that, but despite of this, the result of the movie was perfect.

My full admiration goes to Leo, he is an amazing actor that gives it all for every role he has to play. Fell in love with him in Titanic, later in Catch me if you can, get surprised in Gatsby and Inception, adore him in The Wolf of all Street and now be completely AMAZED in The Revenant. Seriously, his performance totally blow out my mind! The fact that he can be consider one of the most environmental and vegan person in the world but eat the liver of a bison in one scene of the movie for making it more realistic, or that he learned two native American languages (Pawnee and Anikara), shoot a musket and build a fire, explains why he call this role of Hugh Glass, the hardest performance of his career.

This is a movie to be seen in cinema, because it surely won’t be the same as watching it in a tv or a computer. You suffer with the protagonist, you cry with him, you deeply want him to get revenge, you feel the hunger, the desperation, the cold, the distress, and thats what I like the most of this movie, that makes you feel all kind of feelings in only three hours, is a movie that though is a little slowly, you get captivated by the plot, the fight of a man with all the adversities that he found in the path of trying to save himself and survive.

I give this movie five stars, with out any doubt!
